Welcome to my new website dedicated to the building of a Boeing 777 flight simulator. A complete rebuild is underway from the previous generic pit that was loosely based on the Pilatus PC12 to the much more specific 777. Why this aircraft? Well the 777 is a spectacular aircraft you’d have to agree and due to its high level of cockpit sophistication and fly-by-wire technology it lends itself ideally to computer simulation. I never really entertained the idea of building this aircraft due to limitations in specific hardware and software, however two things have come along to change both of these; Firstly Sim Avionics have written some wonderful 777 avionics and system software which continues to be updated and now also supported by preeminent cockpit parts manufacturer Flight Deck Solutions, and second my good friend Gwyn Perrett of Aerosim Solutions is in the business of building custom cockpit parts and even more conveniently lives just up the road from me!  You’ll notice also as you navigate this site that my cockpit is colored grey while the real aircraft is brown. Although I love this aircraft I’m not a big fan of the brown color and after seeing its successor the 787 being built in grey I decided that was a good choice.  So consider my cockpit a hybrid 777/787. Now follow along as my 3rd simulator takes shape!
